Perhaps I should have always become a counsellor as mental wellness – continuous growth and development – have always been my primary interest.

However, as the adage goes, “Everything happens for a reason” and I feel my ‘real-life work experience’ only lends itself to my clients’ benefits as I understand first-hand the environment in which we live and work. Before making a career change, I worked in the ‘Big 4’ accounting firms. I understand firsthand what it is like to work with and for some of the world’s largest organisations. The focus which I bring to all my clients is goal-focused and action-orientated.

My practice is wide reaching given the work I do with the clients I have and therefore I must serve as initially knowledgeable. One of my largest corporate clients is working with a large institution as their ‘onsite wellness consultant’ meaning I meet many different people regularly and I either help them address their needs or I refer them onwards, if outside of my scope. With this client, I am privately & confidentially available for all full time employees to discuss whatever is weighing on them. In addition, my private and offsite work is focused on interpersonal relationships – individuals, couples, parenting and other family topics.

Overall, I enjoy working with people to achieve their goals in their personal and professional lives. Oftentimes our goals are not linear but working with my clients on that journey is what fulfills me the most. When clients realise they have made progress and their face lights up – that is the best part!
